The practice provides an integrated design and consultancy service in fields of Architecture, Master Planning, Interior, Landscape, Graphic and Industrial Design. Projects have been carried out in many different countries including Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Peoples Republic of China, USA and New Zealand as well as in several states of Australia. The work has been extremely diverse with projects including a primary school, warehouses, hotels, a container freight station, sports and recreation facilities, clubs, residences, restaurants of many different cuisines, offices, shops, dental and veterinary surgeon clinics, chinese interiors and product sourcing, building graphics, logos and product design for furniture and tennis racquets. The first interior work in Hong Kong was completed in 1976 evolving and introducing a new concept of American Pool. This was the forerunner of the firms interest and involvement in design of sports and recreation facilities which included the first rooftop sports centre in Hong Kong.

The first major Architectural commission in Hong Kong was received in 1978 involving the design of the Worlds largest container freight station and warehouse. In 1981 the firm was awarded the commission to design the Chairman's Residence for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation In 1981 the firm also began its first project in the People's Republic of China in the early stages of new development in China. Tourist resort projects have been carried out in Bali and Xi Zhong in China. International hotels have been designed for the Mandarin and Meridian Groups and included Conference facilities for 3000 persons.

In 1987 the practice opened a studio in Cooma, NSW, Australia. and projects in the area have included individual housing, lodge accommodation and facilities, Cooma's Multi-Function Centre, Resort Holiday Centre, Town Houses and Flats, commercial premises and refurbishing of historical buildings. From 1993 work has been carried out in Queensland in association with Top Design Consultants Pty Ltd in Brisbane. The work has included the establishment of Past Times Country Crafts Centre, providing facilities for tourists combining the pastimes of spinning and weaving and the past times of the 1860's inn where the centre is located. The Centre is the home of Ashford Australia Pty Limited and the studio location.
